What to expect

A remodel feels a lot less scary when you know what’s coming next.

Most of the worry about a remodel comes from not knowing. What happens when, who’s in your house, whether the job will finish. So here’s exactly how we work, step by step. No surprises is the whole point.

  1. Tell us about your project (the fit-check)

What happens: You tell us roughly what you’re planning: the room, what you have in mind, your timeline, and where you are. We read it personally and get back to you. typical response time to confirm

Why it works this way: We take on a limited number of projects at a time, so the first step is an honest fit-check, not a hard sell. If we’re the right crew for your project, we’ll set up a time to come see it. If we’re not, whether it’s wrong size, wrong area, or wrong timing, we’ll tell you straight and, where we can, point you toward someone who is.

What you’ll never get from us: pressure, a countdown, or a pushy follow-up. A remodel is too big a decision for that.
  2. We walk your home together

What happens: Ricky comes to your home and walks the space with you. He listens first: what you’re picturing, how you use the room, what’s bugging you about it now. Then he gives you an honest read on what’s possible.

Why it works this way: You can’t price or plan a remodel you haven’t stood inside. Walking it together means we actually understand what you want, and it means you get the truth about your space face to face. If a wall can’t come down or the budget won’t stretch to the wish list, you hear it here, not halfway through the job.

  3. You get an honest written proposal

What happens: We put it in writing: a clear scope of the work, real numbers, the trade-offs spelled out, and a plain payment schedule. proposal turnaround to confirm

Why it works this way: A real proposal protects you. When the scope and the number are written down before anyone swings a hammer, there’s no “where did this extra cost come from” later. We’d rather quote it honestly and lose the job than win it with a number we both know will balloon.

  4. We build it

What happens: Once you approve the proposal, we get to work. You’ll know who’s at your house and what’s happening, and we keep you posted as the job moves. how Ricky communicates during a build, to confirm

Why it works this way: The build is where most remodel horror stories happen: the crew that vanishes, the home left a wreck. So this is where we work hardest to be different:

    • We show up. No disappearing after demo.
    • We protect your home. Floors covered, dust contained, site cleaned at the end of every day you’re living in it.
    • We keep you in the loop. You’re never left wondering what’s going on.
  5. We finish the little things (the punch-list)

What happens: Near the end, we walk the whole project with you and write down every last item together: the touch-ups, the adjustments, the small stuff. Then we finish all of it.

Why it works this way: The last 5% is where a lot of crews lose interest once they’re mostly paid. We start the punch-list ourselves instead of waiting for you to complain about it, because a job isn’t done until the little things are done.

  6. We hand it back clean (closeout)

What happens: A final walk-through together, a clean site, and plain-language information on how to care for your new space: finishes, fixtures, anything that needs a little know-how to keep looking new. written care sheet / warranty terms to confirm

Why it works this way: We want the last thing you remember about working with us to be that it was done right and handed back clean, not an invoice. This is also when you’ll really start enjoying the room, so we make sure you know how to keep it that way.

  7. We stay in touch (care, and whatever’s next)

What happens: We don’t disappear when the job’s done. If something needs attention down the line, you know where to find us. And if you decide to tackle the next room a year or two on, we’re glad to help.

Why it works this way: Most of our work comes from people we’ve worked for before, and from the neighbors they tell. We’d rather earn the next job by doing this one right than chase you for it. No pressure, ever.
